Services Overview
Shamefree Support offers professional support services, including individual support, couples support, and sex support. Our services are intended to provide emotional support, guidance, and therapeutic interventions to address various mental health, relationship, and sexuality concerns.
Our services are not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric services. In case of emergency, please call 911 or visit your nearest emergency room.
Eligibility for Services
Our services are available to individuals and couples who are:
- 18 years of age or older (or with parental/guardian consent)
- Not experiencing an acute mental health crisis requiring immediate intervention
- Not currently experiencing thoughts of harming themselves or others
- Seeking support for concerns that fall within our areas of expertise
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue services if we determine that our services are not appropriate for your specific needs or if continuing support could pose a risk to your well-being. In such cases, we will provide appropriate referrals to alternative resources.
Appointments and Cancellations
Scheduling
Appointments can be scheduled through our website, by email, or by phone. All appointments are subject to therapist availability.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that situations may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Our cancellation policy is as follows:
- Cancellations made at least 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time will not incur a cancellation fee.
- Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the scheduled appointment time will be charged 50% of the session fee.
- No-shows (failure to attend without prior notice) will be charged the full session fee.
Exceptions to this policy may be made in cases of emergency or illness, at the discretion of your therapist.
Late Arrivals
If you arrive late for your appointment, your session will still end at the scheduled time, and you will be charged the full fee for the session.
Payment and Fees
Fee Schedule
Our current fee schedule is as follows:
- Individual Support (50 minutes): $150
- Couples Support (80 minutes): $200
- Extended Sessions (110 minutes): $275
Fees are subject to change. Any changes to our fee schedule will be communicated to you in advance.
Payment Methods
We accept payment by credit card, debit card, e-transfer, or cash. Payment is due at the time of service unless alternative arrangements have been made in advance.
Insurance
We do not directly bill insurance companies. However, we can provide you with a receipt that you may submit to your insurance provider for possible reimbursement. It is your responsibility to verify your insurance coverage and submit claims to your insurance provider.
Sliding Scale
A limited number of sliding scale spots may be available based on financial need. Please discuss this option with your therapist during your initial consultation.
Confidentiality and Privacy
We are committed to maintaining the confidentiality of your personal information and support sessions. Our privacy practices are detailed in our Privacy Policy.
While information shared during support sessions is generally confidential, there are certain situations in which we may be legally or ethically required to disclose information without your consent, including:
- If there is a risk of imminent harm to yourself or others
- If there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or dependent adult
- If required by a court order or subpoena
- For consultation with other professionals (without revealing your identity)
Electronic Communication
By using our services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including emails related to appointments, billing, and follow-up care.
Please note that electronic communications such as email, text messaging, and video conferencing platforms are not completely secure and may pose privacy risks. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information but cannot guarantee the security of electronic communications.
For sensitive or urgent matters, we recommend communication by phone or during scheduled sessions rather than by email or text message.
